It’s actually insane seeing all the graphs and formulas you made just for this game. Initially playing this game, I thought it was all laid out or on-rails, because I just couldn’t imagine someone would spend the time to code out poker ai in such a short game jam. I really commend you putting in such insane work because it really paid off. I keep playing more game jam games but this one has remained my absolute favorite, and a lot of it really is how exciting the card games can get (and Audrey <3). Those luck values really helped make it feel more natural and less on-rails. I’m not really experienced when it comes to poker, but I think feeling like it wasn’t completely stacked against me helped push me to keep trying when i lost.
I’m also glad Fukumoto’s work inspired this, cause Kaiji and Akagi are 100% my shit as well. One of my favorite manga/anime inspiring now one of my favorite games is really great. I’m also eternally grateful for those stretch goals haha.
Now, I wonder what the math for a mahjong toxic yuri would be like…
