your points on the history of the web were very salient and well-put!! i doubt i’ll ever escape the nostalgia i have for earlier periods of the web, but it’s good to temper that feeling with understanding when i can.
i found WITH TEETH through this post and like it quite a lot!! it made me fantastically physically uncomfortable and i flinched or recoiled from the screen multiple times throughout. i think you made some excellent choices with the prose!
(not sure if this is rude to note here, but i did notice one typo — a “though” that i think might’ve been meant to be “through” near the start)
i also appreciated the VN recommendations here. though i think i disagree with your assessment of soap bubbles being at home in the jam primarily for it’s “unmarketability”. it might be distressingly grounded, but there’s a strong pervert undercurrent there! it 100% scans to me as a certain kind of emotionally-masochistic Life-Ruining Sexual Fantasy that i’m familiar with.
